“Defending Champions~ Mumbai Indians Decimates Royals & Wins By 08 Wickets !!”

Wow !! What a clinical performance from the defending champions — Mumbai Indians. In the last two — “Do Or Die” fixtures, Mumbai Indians lived upto the expectation & played , exactly the way they are known for — “Dominant & Fearless”. This team has finally shown their true colors & decimated the opposition in no time. Mumbai indians registers their one of the biggest win of “Indian premier League” & forced Rajasthan Royals to score their lowest score in IPL history.

Team Changes

Mumbai Indians : → (MI)

In a must win fixture, Mumbai indians skipper — Rohit Sharma took some tough calls, rather he made some bold decisions. Leaving someone like — Quinton De Kock & Krunal Pandya is not easy. But, situation demanded it & he took the call & but who made the entry in playing eleven ? The young explosive lefty — Ishant Kishan is back & kiwi all rounder — “Jimmy Neesham” joins the team for this epic fixture.

Rajasthan Royals: → (RR)

Rajasthan Royals continued with their impulsive changes to the team, which possibly has no explanations. Now, in this game the off-spinner — “Shreyas Gopal” & new entrant “Kuldip Yadav” joins the playing eleven. Kuldip Yadav — you heard that name ? No, it’s not that one. Why Akash Singh is not there, after just playing one game he is not there. Can anyone explain this — Kuldip Yadav (IN) & Kartik Tyagi (OUT) ? Such selections in a “Do Or Die” encounter puts many questions, about the think tank of Rajasthan Royals ?

Mumbai Indians Storm Blew Away Royals…..

On a slowish & sluggish pitch of Sharjah, Rohit Sharma won an all important toss & has no doubts whatsoever in opting to field first. Now Rajasthan Royals had a big job on hands, to put at least a par score on board — 156 runs. Possibly, this must be a minimum what Royals must be thinking at that point of time. But, the defending champions planned something else for them.

Rajasthan Royals once again were heavily depending on openers — Evin Lewis, Yashasvi Jaiswal & skipper Sanju Samson. When Royals commenced their innings, both the openers looked in good touch & gave a decent start to Royals. This was the first match of Royals at Sharjah & had no clue about the sluggishness of the pitch. But, Mumbai Indians were clever & bowlers were not giving any pace to play with. After hitting three boundaries, Yashasvi Jaiswal(12) tried to repeat & was beautifully foxed by a slower one off “Nathan Coulter-Nile” & Mumbai had a big fish — the first breakthrough in the power-play.

How could anyone can keep Jasprit Bumrah, away from action for long !! In the last over of power-play Bumrah strikes & strikes big this time. Evin Lewis(24) was caught right in front of crease — plum LBW !! Rajasthan Royals lost both the in form openers inside the power-play. Still the situation was not out of hands. RR — 41/2 (6.0 Overs)

Then began the epic drama — rather a monumental collapse. Mumbai played a master stroke on this slowish pitch, by bringing in the slower bowlers on attack. In the very next over skipper Sanju Samson(3) looped one in the air &it was a dolly for Jayant Yadav off Jimmy Neesham. Mumbai knew, now it’s time to go all on attack. Defending champions didn’t gave an inch from here & made not a single mistake, ripped through the entire team. No player could adapt to the slowness of the pitch & became the victims of their own mistakes.

The show stoppers of last match — Shivam Dube(), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia & Glenn Phillips, all of them failed completely. Rajasthan Royals couldn’t score a single boundary from 06th over to 20th over of the innings, sums up the entire story. The pink army was limited to their lowest score of IPL & the defending champions completely decimated & blew away the Royals. RR — 90/9

Absolute Carnage From Ishan Kishan…..Eliminates Royals

Mumbai Indians were about to chase one of the lowest targets. But, defending champions were in some real hurry. Reason was crystal clear — Mumbai wanted to improve their “Net Run Rate” & this was a golden opportunity. Defending champions played with the urgency & intent right from the very first delivery, especially the way skipper — Rohit Sharma went bezerk.

Ishan Kishan was making a comeback & took some time in the middle. Ishan played complete one maiden over. But, Rohit understood that very well & he kept hitting big shots. Soon, Ishan shifted the gears & took bowlers to the cleaners. Finally,we could saw the last year’s Ishan Kishan — Fearless & Attacking. After playing a cameo, skipper Rohit Sharma(22) perished & sacrificed his wicket for team’s cause. Then, it was turn of Surya Kumar Yadav(S.K.Y.) to show his class. Every batsman was on attack & Surya also smashed three boundaries & just when it looked SKY is back, he too perished attempting a big shot.

By the time, Ishan was set & he took the control of the game. He literally smashed every single ball coming to him. Either the ball went in the stands or over the ropes. Even after playing a complete maiden over, this dynamo completed his another half-century in just 25 balls(50*) & hits the winning shot of the match. Mumbai indians finished the match in 50 deliveries & won the match by 08 wickets in the 09th over of the innings only . Ishan Kishan hit 05 boundaries & 04 humongous sixes in his innings — that itself is a “Statement of Intent”. Champions are back in style !! MI — 94/2

Final Verdict

This was a must win game for Mumbai Indians & that too they need to win by a huge margin, which they did. All the bowlers did a brilliant job, but still pick of the bowlers were — Nathan Coulternile (04 Wickets For 14 Runs) & Jimmy Neesham (03 Wickets For 12 Runs).

As per the statement of legendary — Sir Sunil Gavaskar, if Mumbai would have a won two deliveries before that would have took their net run rate in positive. But, still this is a massive victory for the defending champions & still they are in hunt for the playoffs. This win must have hurt Kolkata Knight Riders, because it’s only Mumbai Indians who can throw KKR out of the playoffs. Defending champions announce themselves in this match & they are back. Scary times for all the oppositions !!

What to say about Rajasthan Royals. The journey of Rajasthan Royals in IPL-2021 is over, with this massive loss. One more season ended on a low. When only three or four of the team members will contribute, then you have to have such results. On the top of everything, some impulsive & horrendous decisions taken by the team management. Team sticks to the non-performing players for too long & kept replacing the newbies too fast. Proper full time resources were warming the benches & team was playing with the part-time resources. It’s sad to see, such an amazing group of talented resources goes unutilized. See you in IPL-2022 !!

FINAL SCORE-LINE
