“Kolkata Knight Riders Crawled To an Undeserving Win ~ Won The Match By 06 Wickets”

Team Changes: →

Sunrisers Hyderabad:- (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad surprised everyone & went unchanged in this match. Well, looking at the past few matches it was expected of Sunrisers to make few changes, but they didn’t.

Kolkata Knight Riders:- (KKR)

Kolkata Knight Riders, finally made one right change to the playing eleven. In this match, Knights brought Bangladesh all-rounder — “Shakib-Al-Hasan”. This was expected from them, from last few matches but finally we could see the right player in the playing eleven.

Batting Collapse of Sunrisers ~ Continued…

Kane Williamson of Sunrisers Hyderabad won an all important toss & opted to bat first, on a pacy wicket of Dubai. This decision surprised everyone. Decision of batting first back-fired & orange army lost the “Wridhiman Saha” on the second delivery of the match. Yet again, Kane Williamson & Jason Roy had the responsibility of scoring runs for the team. But, this was not suppose to be the best of the days for both of them. In the fourth over of the match — Jason Roy(10) perished. Them, skipper decided to take on the bowlers in the power-play. Just when pendulum was about to swing Sunrisers way, against the run of play “Shakib-Al-Hasan” inflicted Kane Williamson’s(26) “Run-Out” & Knight Riders bounced-back.

Priyam Garg(21) & Abdul Samad(25) played their part & scored some crucial runs for the team. But, it was never going to be enough. No other batsmen was able to stay enough at crease & couldn’t reach even to double figures. Sunrisers kept loosing the wickets at regular intervals & batting collapse of Sunrisers continued in this match. Kolkata Knight Riders were all over the Sunrisers. The pick of the bowlers for Knight Riders were — Tim Southee & Shakib-Al-Hasan. Orange army was limited to an ordinary score of — 115 only. At halfway stage, purple army was on top. SRH — 115/8 (20.0 Overs)

Shubman-Nitish Ensure Knights Win…..After a Panic !!

Kolkata Knight Riders commenced their innings in an explosive manner. Venkatesh Iyer possibly knows only one way of playing & now he is no more a mystery to the other teams. This time attacking approach of Iyer(8) didn’t worked & he fall to a master-plan of Jason Holder — Kane Williamson plan.

Soon after, Rahul Tripathi() also gifted his wicked to the opposition. He became the first victim of leg-spin maestro — “Rashid Khan”. Once again,purple army pushed that panic button & someone with a calm head was required to steady the ship. Thankfully, KKR opener Shubman Gill in company of Nitish Rana, played some sensible cricket & it looked like these two will take the team over the line. But……this is “Incredible Premier League” !!

Something crazy has to happen, otherwise it’s very non-KKR. Sunrisers were tightening the screws. Runs were hard to come by — boundaries were dried up & asking rate was climbing. The pressure was mounting on Kolkata Knight Riders. Something was about to happen & it happened. By the time, Shubman Gill scored another “half-century”. Just when things were getting tense for both the teams, Shubman Gill(57) tried a big shot & was hold-out around the boundary-ropes.

In the very next over — Nitish Rana(18) became the victim of Jason Holder. Sunrisers were,well & truly back in the game. Yet again, Knight Riders pushed that “Panic Button” & match was literally slipping away from them. Fortunately, for Knights, their veteran player — “Dinesh Karthik(18*) somehow managed to get the team over the line. Eventually, Kolkata Knight Riders get there, just in snick of time & won this match by 06 wickets — somehow !! KKR — 119/4 (19.4 Overs)

Final Verdict: →

Although, Kolkata Knight Riders won this fixture. But, they won’t be happy with this win. Especially, the way they batted & panicked twice while chasing such an ordinary score. This win puts Knight Riders ahead of it’s competitors. But, KKR will take this as a wake-up call for them.

Sunrisers Hyderabad played really well, especially their bowlers. They were the deserving ones to win this contest. Orange army came really close to win this contest & scared Knights like anything. Purple army were very fortunate to get this lucky escape.

FINAL SCORE-LINE : →

SRH — 115/8 (20.0 Overs) || KKR — 119/4 (19.4 Overs)
